Business Development Representative - Automotive AI, Remote

AutoEngage is an AI communication platform built for franchised dealership groups, with a focus on the service side of the business: customer communication, retention, repair order growth, and fixed-ops revenue.

\n

\n

Our product is already running at national scale, including across every store for two of the five largest dealer groups. We are now expanding our sales team and hiring Business Development Representatives to help us reach more dealership groups that are ready to modernize service communication.

\n

\n

This is an early sales role at a company with proven customers, a focused market, and room for strong performers to grow into future Inside Sales or Regional Sales Manager roles.

\n

About The Role

\n

\n

This is an outbound sales development role. Your job is to identify strong-fit dealership accounts, create interest, book qualified demos, and help our sales team start real conversations with service directors, general managers, dealer principals, and group-level operators. You will not be responsible for negotiating contracts or carrying deals through procurement.

\n

\n

You will report directly to the Enterprise Sales Director and work closely with Regional Sales Managers in the field.

\n

\n

You will be selling into a market where the pain is real and easy to understand: missed service calls, inconsistent follow-up, lower customer retention, and lost revenue opportunities. The right BDR will learn how dealership service departments operate and turn that knowledge into high-quality outbound conversations.

What You’ll Do

\n

\n

\n
• Prospect franchised dealerships and dealer groups across assigned markets.
\n
• Reach service directors, general managers, dealer principals, and corporate dealership leaders by phone, email, LinkedIn, and Salesloft.
\n
• Book qualified demos for the sales team.
\n
• Research accounts before outreach so your messaging sounds relevant, not canned.
\n
• Use HubSpot to maintain clean account, contact, activity, and meeting records.
\n
• Work with Regional Sales Managers to support territory plans, field routes, and dealership-group opportunities.
\n
• Build repeatable outbound plays around service communication, missed opportunities, retention, and repair order growth.
\n
• Learn how larger dealership groups evaluate technology, expand products across rooftops, and make service-lane decisions.
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n

The core requirement is outbound sales skill. We can teach you the dealership service business. What we need is someone who already knows how to get a busy decision-maker on the phone and earn the next five minutes.

\n

\n

Strongest Fit

\n

\n
• Experience selling into dealerships from the vendor or SaaS side. You already understand the buyer, the gatekeepers, and what makes fixed-ops leaders pay attention.
\n

\n

\n

Also Strong

\n

\n
• B2B outbound experience in any industry where you cold-called operators and executives and booked meetings that turned into real pipeline.
\n

\n

\n

What Matters More Than Your Background

\n

\n
• You have done genuine cold outbound, not just inbound follow-up or warm lead qualification.
\n
• You can research an account well enough that your first sentence is not generic.
\n
• You are organized enough to work a territory systematically instead of chasing whoever answers.
\n
• You are comfortable being measured on qualified meetings held.
\n

Helpful But Not Required

\n

\n
• HubSpot, Salesloft, or similar sales tools.
\n
• Familiarity with dealership operations, fixed ops, or service-lane economics.
\n

\n

\n

This Role Is Probably Not For You If

• You are looking for warm inbound leads.
\n
• Your experience is mainly inbound appointment-setting rather than cold prospecting.
\n
• You do not want to make outbound calls every day.
\n

• HubSpot for CRM, account/contact management, meeting records, and pipeline visibility.

• Salesloft for outbound sales engagement, sequencing, calling, and follow-up.
\n
• LinkedIn and approved research tools for account and contact research.

Compensation & Benefits

\n

\n
• Base salary: $55,000-$60,000
\n
• Target variable compensation: $30,000
\n
• On-target earnings: $85,000-$90,000
\n
• Compensation is uncapped
\n

• Variable compensation is earned through qualified demos held and closed-won rooftop kickers. BDRs are rewarded for creating real qualified sales opportunities, including additional upside when a sourced meeting turns into a multi-rooftop dealership group deal.

This is a remote U.S.-based role. Candidates must be able to work effectively from a home office and participate in regular video, phone, and CRM-based sales activity.
